Detailing Products
There are many different kinds of products that you can use when detailing your car. Some are designed for the exterior of the vehicle, some for the interior and some can clean both inside and outside the car. Popular types of products include:
1. Washing and drying products
There are various options open to you when it comes to cleaning and drying off your car. You can, for example, use shampoos and car washes to wash the car and a range of cloths and towels to dry it off afterwards. You may find that your car has built up areas of grime that cannot be washed off with a regular product at which point you might want to look at a different solution such as a clay bar.
2. Polishing and waxing products
To really get the outside of your car looking great you need to choose appropriate polishing and/or waxing products. Many polishes can simply be applied by hand but some people prefer to apply them with a special polishing machine/polisher to get the best effect. Waxes on the other hand tend to be applied manually. In general terms you can use standard polishes on the interior of your car as necessary. You may also want to look at buying specialist glass cleaners and polishes for your windows and windscreen.
3. Sealant and glazing products
Applying a sealant during the detailing process will help you lock in the glossy polished effect that you have achieved at this stage. To get optimum effects you may want to use a glaze first to achieve optimum shine before sealing it in.
4. Wheel and tyre products
A well detailed car will also include the need to clean up your wheel rims and tyres. You can buy a range of specialist products for this purpose including cleaners, glosses, sealants, brushes and applicators.
5. Engine products
A clean engine doesn't just look good but it can help maintain good performance in a car and can help its resale value stay steady. There are various products available to clean up your engine including cleaners, degreasers, protectants, polishes and brushes.
6. Interior products
There are various solutions to help you detail the interior of your car as well. These included carpet shampoos and cleaners, leather, plastic and vinyl cleaners, fabric guards and brushes and applicators.
